SRtRC at NAHT Conference 2023

On the 30th of November, Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) were invited by the National Association of Headteachers (NAHT) to speak to staff at their 2023 Conference, hosted at the De Vere Beaumont Estate, in Old Windsor. The NAHT are prioritising and introducing Equality and Diversity initiatives and hosted their biannual event across last week, and held a range of discussions across the event.

SRtRC On The Ground with Tranmere Rovers

SRtRC delivered an event at Prenton Park in partnership with Wirral Deen Centre and Tranmere Rovers in the Community as part of Islamophobia Awareness Month. 40 young people aged 11-15 attended from 3 Wirral schools: Birkenhead Park School, St. Mary’s College and St. John Plessington Catholic College. Show Racism the Red Card with the Welsh Rugby Union

Show Racism the Red Card Wales, in partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union hosted an all staff WRU event at the Principality stadium which featured a presentation from the Campaign Manger for Wales on the work of Show Racism the Red Card followed by acting CEO Nigel Walker around the importance and commitment to anti-racism from the WRU. A panel of guests including, Gerald Cordle, Anthony Blades, Rafiuke Taylor, Robert Mota and Noor Omar with lived experience of racism within rugby in Wales.

SRtRC On The Ground with Leyton Orient

On the 8th of November, Leyton Orient Trust in collaboration Show Racism The Red Card hosted an inspiring anti-racism educational event at Brisbane Road, home of Leyton Orient Football Club. This event brought together over 90 local school pupils from year 6, including students from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School and Bancroft Primary School to educate and empower these young minds to combat racism.

School Competition 2024 now open for all schools in England!

The Competition is open to young people of all ages and abilities and is a great follow-on activity to educational work about racism.
